Support WCBC

Every Wolfson athlete knows that it takes blood, sweat, and tears to race at the top of Oxford collegiate rowing. But while our boat speed comes from the enthusiasm and dedication of our athletes, keeping the club competitive takes a bit more than that.

Wolfson relies on the generosity of donors, sponsors, and the colleges to provide the equipment, coaching salaries, and training opportunities that allow our athletes to reach their peak potential. Wolfson College is known for its egalitarian ethos, and we want everyone studying at Wolfson and St. Cross to be able to give Oxford’s most iconic pastime a try. In that spirit we try to keep costs as low as possible for our members, and truly appreciate your support.

Representing Oxford Physics

Since 2019, Wolfson College Boat Club has been proudly representing the Oxford University Department of Physics through sponsorship from an anonymous donor.

This sponsorship is crucial for the boat club's continued success. With the generous funding, we can

  • Increase training budgets for men and women through all divisions

  • Increase equipment budgets and the ability to use training facilities such as tank sessions

  • Compete at external regattas across England

  • Attend a weekend training camp for the whole club in Henley-on-Thames

  • Hold training sessions at Dorney Lake when the river is closed due to flooding

  • Create a hardship fund to help rowers with financial difficulties covering the costs of rowing
