Held at Coate Water Park near Reading, this was an extremely successful — if wet — regatta for Wolfson women. Racing over a very short course, the crew comprised the Summer VIII’s W1 crew which won the WS2 final by a canvas from City of Bristol and Christ Church (Ox). Sadly, we were beaten in the WS3 final by a very fast schools crew who had already beaten St Catz. However, there was the respite of seeing James Hopkins and Keith Spencer putting in a sterling show in the pair against some very fine opposition. (Well, we had only had 5 outings. Ever.) Sadly we lost. The verdict? Comfortably.
